Religions is the belief system on Loka that players are able to create, customize, and follow. Creating a religion is easy for anyone to do, but, approval of a religion has specific requirements. Faith is used to show how strong a religion is and it is obtained by praying. Followers of a religion must pray daily to their deity, or the religion will be forgotten.

Creating a Religion[]

Creating a religion is done by typing the command, /rl create. Typing this command will set the name, holy site, and founder of the religion.

The name is set by adding the name you want for your religion after the command, /rl create. The name can't be change once you have created your religion.

The holy site is set where the creation command was entered. Holy sites are set on any open territory. Holy sites can only be created on Kalros, Ascalon, or Garama in any territory that doesn't already have a holy site. Holy sites can't be relocated once you have created your religion.

The founder of the religion is set by the person who types the command, /rl create. Founders can't be changed once the religion is created.

An offical of past and present religions can be seen here.

Approval of a Religion[]

To get approval of your religion, the founder of the religion must have:

  • Three players, including yourself, following the religion
  • A deity for the religion
  • A description of the religion

Adding Players to your Religion[]

Converting players to your religion is done by typing the command, /rl convert. Both the founder (or someone who is following the religion) and the non-follower must be standing within the holy site of the religion to convert the them.

Adding a Deity to your Religion[]

A deity is the person, place, or thing that your religion worships. Setting a deity to your religion can be done by typing /rl deity [Noun] in chat. You do not have to be within your holy site to set the deity of your religion. Only the founder of the religion may eift the deity of the religion.

Adding a Description to your Religion[]

Descriptions of religions can be added using the command, /rl desc. The description must be relevant to either, Minecraft, a player or town on Loka, or something about Loka's story in order to receive approval from a high admin. A player does not have to be within the holy site of the religion to add or edit their religion description. Only the founder of the religion can edit the description of the religion.

A description has a max character limit as one line of default minecraft text. Descriptions have access to the use of flavor text for players to add some extra detail to their religion.

Adding Color to Text

To change the colour of text, add the appropriate colour code (pictured bellow) before the text you wish to colour. For example, to make text gold, you would type:

Colors of Text

/rl desc &6This would be gold text in game

A player can also have multiple colors in one line of text. A player can change the color of text by adding another color code at any point during the line. An example would look like this:

/rl desc &9This is blue &aNow this is green.

No spaces are required between the colour codes and text. Adding colour codes does take up the character limit.

Adding Emphasis to Text

Players may also add emphasis to text, such as bold text, underline, and italics. If you are adding colour and emphasis to the same word you must place the emphasis code before the colour code. For example:

/rl desc &l&n&cThis text would be bold, underlined, and the colour red

If a player wants emphasis or colour to stop before the end of a line, typing &r will reset the following text back to standard.

Approval of your Religion[]

With at least three followers, a deity, and a description of your religion, a head admin will review your religion. If all criteria are met, your religion will be approved. On approval, 60 faith will automatically be added to your religion (20 faith for the founder and 40 faith for the first two followers of the religion). Your religion can now be viewed with the command, /rl info. A prompt in chat will show all details about your religion including:

  • Name of the religion
  • Current amount of faith for the religion
  • Description of the religion
  • Founder of the religion
  • Leader(s) of the religion
  • Date founded
  • Where the holy site is
  • Members of the religion

Faith[]

Faith is the amount of belief within a religion. Faith is only obtained after a religion has been approved. On approval, your religion will start with 60 faith. 20 faith of that 60 is for the founder, and 40 of that 60 faith is for the first two followers of the religion. The only other way to obtain faith is by praying.

Viewing Faith[]

To view how much faith your religion has, a player can either type /rl info or /rl list. /rl info will show everything about your religion that you follow, while /rl info will bring up a list of all religions on Loka.

Praying[]

Praying

Praying is what you do to produce faith for the religion you are currently following. You can only pray to the religion you are currently following. Anyone following the religion can pray and add faith to the religion.

How to Pray

A player can pray by typing the command, /pray. A player may pray every eight hours and praying takes approximately 20 seconds. You must stand still the entire time while praying or the prayer will be canceled. Praying will produce two faith standing within the holy site of the religion and one faith anywhere else not within the holy site.

Decaying Faith[]

Religions require followers to pray and have belief in their religion. Someone following the religion must pray at least once least once every 24 hours or faith will begin to decay form the religion. If no one prays within 24 hours, one faith will be removed from the religion. One extra faith will be lost every 24 hours following if no one in the religion prays. This pattern will continue up to ten days, losing ten faith per day if no followers pray to the religion. When a religion runs out of faith, the religion will be forgotten and be deleted.

Holy Site[]

Holy sites are the specific territory where the religion was first created. Holy sites are the specific territory where the founder of the religion created the initial religion. Holy site can only be created on Kalros, Ascalon, or Garama, and may only be created on titles with no current holy site. The holy site is unchangeable once the religion has been created. The main purposes of a holy site is for converting non-followers to your religion and praying to add faith.

Converting Players[]

Converting players to your religion is done by typing the command, /rl convert. Both the founder (or someone who is following the religion) and the non-follower must be standing within the holy site of the religion to convert the them. There is an unlimited amount of players who may be converted to your religion.

Leaders of a Religion[]

There are three leaders of a religion. The leaders of the religion are top three followers who have prayed and accumulated the most amount of faith for that religion. Leaders of the religion have access to creating titles within religion chat. The founder of the religion can be overtaken in faith by the followers and can be labeled as not one of the three leaders of the religion, however, the founder still has access to changing titles within the religion.

Religion Chat[]

The channel for religion is /ch rl. All followers have access to a religion chat when part of a religion. This chat may only be seen by other followers of your religion. Religion chat does not have a fast chat command and can only be used by switching to the religion chat channel. Followers of a religion may be muted in this chat by using /rl mute. The founder and the leaders of the religion can set titles for all followers within the religion chat.
